25 [Mini] DIYs Of Christmas: Christmas Pallet Coaster

To kick off the 25 [Mini] DIYs of Christmas, we decided to do a second edition of the oh-so-famous pallet coasters, our Christmas Edition!

If you missed the DIY Halloween Pallet Coaster blog  (or just feel like a refresher), here are the supplies that you will need:

  • 1 set of the Pine Miniature Pallet Coasters
  • Paint and paint pens
  • Acrylic gesso (optional - but very useful for priming the pallets)
  • Paint brushes (stiff bristles are best and you will want different sizes, depending on how detailed you want to get)
  • Polyurethane (definitely a must if you want to protect your 5 mini masterpieces from the condensation of your drinks, or from your jealous party-animal friends who won't stop wanting to touch them)

Step #1: Prime your Mini Materials miniature coaster pallets (optional)

Use a bigger paint brush for this since you have to cover the entire pallet. Also, you will want to wait for the primer to completely dry before moving on to the details.

(A Mini Tip - If you remove the bottom three wooden slats and paint them separately, it is a LOT easier to paint the bottom of the pallet. This is especially true once you get to the detail painting.)

Step #2: Start Decorating!

Start painting your masterpieces!

Step 3: Polyurethane

Let the paint dry completely. Once your mini pallet coasters are completely dry to the touch, go ahead and polyurethane them! PLEASE read the directions on your polyurethane container for the approximate time to let dry. Otherwise, you may ruin your work of art. Have fun creating, and don't forget to post on Instagram with #25minidiys!!!!
